Click LVT Installation Tips & Tricks

  • Select Surfaces Click LVT flooring can be installed in any room inside the house where the floor is solid and flat and the temperature is maintained between 18° - 27°C (65° - 80°F) year-round.
  • Click LVT flooring should be acclimated in a climate-controlled location for 48 hours before starting installation in the room where it is to be installed.
  • Account for some material wastage in your flooring material needs. We estimate the amount of material wasted to be 5%. Calculate your flooring needs by measuring your rooms dimensions and then add 5% to the surface area of the room. Use our simple flooring calculator to easily determine how much you need to buy for your project.
  • Mix and match tiles from several different cartons to minimize any potential shade variation.
  • Although Click LVT is designed to be a “floating” floor, proper preparation of the subfloor is still a major step for a successful installation. Rough or uneven subfloors may show through the new floor.
  • NO underlayment can be used with the Click LVT flooring
  • Cabinets and Islands cannot be installed on top of Click LVT.
  • It is necessary to leave an expansion gap around the perimeter of the room and all fixed obstacles to allow for the natural expansion and contraction of the flooring with fluctuations in seasonal temperatures. An 8 mm (5/16”) expansion gap should be kept from the wall during the installation.
  • Click LVT can be installed over concrete floor with radiant-heating provided the temperature of the floor does not exceed 27°C (80°F) at any time.
